Squint
It is a myth to think that having squint or cross eye brings luck to the patient. It could mean loss of vision in the concerned eye. Early treatment could prevent this. A child with squint can be more easily treated if below 4 years. Vision loss can also be prevented [lazy eye]. It is treated by:
- eye exercise
- with spectacles
- medically or
- surgically based on the case and cause.
1. Squint in a boy following head injury.
2. He had to turn his head to the left to avoid double vision. This was causing him neck pain apart from awkwardness.
3. Head straightened after squint surgeries in 2 stages as required for this case.
There was no double vision either.
